Never choose between durability and dexterity again! Inspired by the needs of supermoto racers who require both extreme flexibility and extreme protection, the Sumo® R gloves are ideal for street riding too. In fact, to make it even more useful for everyday riding, we added a new touch screen interface to the finger tips for controlling your iPhone/Android/GPS, etc.

The secret to adding protection without sacrificing our legendary flexibility and comfort is the use of a specialized Thermoplastic Rubber (TPR) material. Its computer optimized, segmented design is transparent to the user yet provides serious impact resistance.

Compared to the standard DeerSports®, the Sumo® R has a completely outseam construction. It also adds impact protection to the knuckles, fingers and wrist bones.

It is suitable for all kinds of street and track riding, and includes all the same features as the standard Sumo model.

Proudly made in the USA.

    Sumo-R model gloves - awesome!

    Posted by paulfedor@verizon.net on 7th May 2019

These gloves are even more comfortable than I expected. I heard about them from Fast Eddie’s youTube channel (Motojitsu), and he was spot on with the rationale for recommending them. Deer and elk skin is absolutely more durable than cowhide without question.

Excellent gloves, safety comfort, and protection.

I've been riding with the Sump R gloves for approximately 1500 miles now. The break in period was very short and the gloves are so comfortable I can barely feel them. The armor is perfectly positioned. Very well built and if and when they wear out I will be buying another pair. My girlfriend has been asking for a pair as well.

    Great summer glove

Posted by Michael j graphix on 3rd May 2019

I've been wearing Lee Park Design gloves for over two decades now. I decided to go with the Sumo gloves for the extra protection. The fit is perfect and these gloves are quite comfortable - break-in period was just a couple of days. I have two minor criticisms: 1. I wish the gauntlet version came is all black. 2. Because of the armour, I can't wipe my visor easily when it's raining. I need to use the face of my finger, which is awkward - a wiper on the left index finger would be a great addition. Otherwise, these gloves are fantastic under a wide range of riding climates. I almost never need to put on my Lee Parks PCI gloves here in Northern CA.

    Quality is 5 stars but...

Posted by Anthony on 26th Apr 2019

The color of the gloves is not the deep red I was expecting, it’s actually a more yellow tank color on palms which is unfortunate. The gauntlet style is also not as adjustable, wish the Velcro went around further so the excess cuff could be more snug fit. I usually wear a medium, I ordered a small which fit nicely but the knuckle padding could have been larger and gone more across the whole knuckle. It was a beautiful glove excellent quality. I had to return them and I ordered the regular Sumo gloves in black since the gauntlet style was a bit too much for me to use on my quick commutes to work, I think the regular Sumo will provide the same protection for me considering I also wear a leather jacket with armor. I was expecting a deep red gauntlet to go nicely with my leather jacket but the yellow color was not what I had envisioned for myself.

    Lee Parks Sumo-R

Posted by Don Loveless, Jr. on 24th Dec 2018

I purchased these because I wanted extra wind protection in winter riding along with extra crash protection. The Sumo-R exceeded my expectations. They felt good from the first use. Definitely a good purchase and a good value.

    Excellent Gloves

I've used the Lee Parks DeerSports gloves for years now. They are always my first choice out of about 6 pairs I own because of their comfort. I bought the Sumo gloves because of the touchscreen interface. My DeerSports are size XXL and the Sumo are only available in XL. They are just a little bit tight. Nothing terrible, I just notice it. I'm sure they will break in soon and I won't notice at all. The Sumo's are every bit as comfortable as the DeerSports. Will definitely buy again.

Good quality, but feels like a $225 garden glove

Posted by Josiah Kuenzi on 5th Jun 2018

Can tell the seams and thicker leather they may last better than Dainese, Spidi, Icon, Alpine Stars and many others. Time will tell, but the glove just doesn't feel protective and definitely not as refined as Full Metal 6 or Held Phantom II. They don't come close to the protection, comfort, and refinement of my Held Titan EVO kangaroo leather / metal gloves.

    Great fit!

Posted by BH on 19th Oct 2017

Use the size guide. I usually take a large glove. I ordered size medium and they are prefect. They will break-in very well, and I am going to like these gloves! The deerskin feels great, and the extra protection with the Sumo is what I wanted.

    On the right track

Posted by Double D on 18th Oct 2017

Best available to date. Could use some retro-reflective panels though. Also, the gauntlet is too floppy and "shorter" on the outside. Floppy gauntlets might fit better if the longer side was on the outside. Velcro tabs are problematic with Aero-stitch suit. Anticipate Velcro to become "clogged" with fabric pills.
