Say hello to Sumo®! Inspired by the needs of supermoto racers who require both extreme flexibility and extreme protection, the Sumo® gloves are ideal for street riding too. In fact, to make it even more useful for everyday riding, we added a new touch screen interface to the finger tips for controlling your iPhone/Android/GPS, etc.

The secret to adding protection without sacrificing our legendary flexibility and comfort is the use of a specialized Thermoplastic Rubber (TPR) material. Its computer optimized, segmented design is transparent to the user yet provides serious impact resistance.

Compared to the standard DeerTours®, the Sumo® has a half-inch longer cuff with a closed-loop design. It also adds impact protection to the knuckles, fingers and wrist bones.

Proudly made in the USA.

NOTE: Prior to ordering, click on this Glove Size Chart to print off a sizing chart for your hands. These gloves run bigger than most brands, so don’t be alarmed if you’re either a small or medium in Lee Parks Design gloves.

    They do not really work.

Everything about these gloves is great. The fit, the feel, the craftsmanship. Everything except the one reason I purchased them for: Touch screen capability. They just don't work very well at all. I even removed the screen protector on my phone, but there was no improvement. I cannot be having to fool around getting them to activate icons on my phone while riding my bike. I guess I could cut the index finger tip off like I did with a much less expensive pair. Unfortunately disappointed.

After breaking these in for less than a week, a stitch blew out on the outside seam of the left pinky finger. The $20 gloves from China seem to be better made than these $220 ones, which is kind of sad. Otherwise the gloves are nice and will hopefully hold up well (after repair with some SeamGrip). Still - disappointing. No response from them when I emailed about it.

    Sumo glove

I purchased a pair of Lee Parks deerskin gloves some 15 or so years ago at a motorcycle show in Long Beach CA and they have been quite comfortable 9as well as well built) - did not use them much of the time but when I wanted something for cooler days (this was back when I lived in SoCal) those gloves were my go-to.
Of course, in the few hundred thousand miles since, I have had many pairs of gloves - various materials, we4ights etc. for different seasons, but I would fall back on the Lee Parks when the weather called for it. Those gloves have a lining of a felt-like material that make them quite comfortable - and I like how they feel on m hands.
So when I was just looking around the web I saw the Sumo gloves - and while I am not a big fan of the black colored rubber guards, style wise - i was intrigued by the idea and knew that the quality would be second to none.
Well, the Sumos do not disappoint. At first, noting they do not have any kind of fabric or felt-like lining I was concerned they might not be comfortable, but having ridden them a few hundred miles over the past couple of weeks, including in chillier (about 45-50 degree) weather I can say they are as comfy as the lined ones I bought all those years ago. Of course, the fingertips that can work with a smartphone are a nice touch, but I definitely think these are worth the price and am certain they will last quite a long time seeing how my first pair has fared.

    Lee Parks Design Sumo gloves

I ordered a pair of these after reading about them on the BMW MOA forums. They run smaller than others so check the size chart and follow that. These are by far the most comfortable gloves I have ever had. The sensativity is incredible and the touch screen finger and thumb put these on another level. A quick change to the maps screen or music on your phonr while riding is super easy, no need to stop and take glove off etc. VERY comfortable!! I wish all of their gloves could have the touch screen tips on them!!!! Please make that available Lee Parks people!!

    Sumo gloves

The gloves are very comfortable and I expect them to get better as they wear in. I experienced no numbness or tingling during my first use, a 200 mile ride. My only complaint is that I had to remove the gloves to use my Garmin GPS or to adjust the volume on my helmet headset controls. Those situations may improve as I get used to the gloves. Overall, I’m very satisfied.

    Sumo Gloves

These gloves are a replacement for my Lee Parks Deer Tours which I have put many miles on. They're just getting a bit stretched out so I decided to get a new pair. I have a 2018 Goldwing which has a large selection of discrete buttons on the handlebars - requiring good dexterity to distinguish them. The Deer Tours were about the 6th or 7th so pairs of gloves I’ve tried, and are the perfect solution to the task.

I recently received a pair of Lee Parks Sumo gloves and have done one ride of bout 50 miles. I picked these as an upgrade to the Deer Tours due to them having the knuckle armor and the finger tip touch screen capability. So far they are fine except for pressure I get due to the armor on my knuckles (particularly on the left hand, middle finger- don’t know why that is). The pressure occur at the metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joint, where the fingers attach to the palm - particularly on the middle finger.

I’m not sure whether to keep them in hopes the armor area stretches or send them back in exchange for new Deer Tours. I can say they (the Deep Tours) are the most comfortable gloves I’ve ever worn.
