Say hello to Sumo®! Inspired by the needs of supermoto racers who require both extreme flexibility and extreme protection, the Sumo® gloves are ideal for street riding too. In fact, to make it even more useful for everyday riding, we added a new touch screen interface to the finger tips for controlling your iPhone/Android/GPS, etc.

The secret to adding protection without sacrificing our legendary flexibility and comfort is the use of a specialized Thermoplastic Rubber (TPR) material. Its computer optimized, segmented design is transparent to the user yet provides serious impact resistance.

Compared to the standard DeerTours®, the Sumo® has a half-inch longer cuff with a closed-loop design. It also adds impact protection to the knuckles, fingers and wrist bones.

Proudly made in the USA.

COLOR/TEXTURE

Due to variations of color settings and qualities of phone/tablet/computer screens, it is unavoidable that colors will appear differently for everyone. The colors in photos and named descriptors (e.g. "black", "gold", "tan", etc) are subjective, approximate, and may vary. Color dyes within an item may vary due to different leather hides. Color and texture may vary among different production lots of the same item. Different products with the same color name may not match in color.

    Comfy with a few niggles

I find after a couple rides with these gloves that they are generally pretty comfortable, although there are some inside rough areas that cause some irritation to my fingers. For the price I expected better workmanship.

I also find it distracting that the black rubber armor on the back of the fingers often rubs against the front brake lever and clutch lever on my KTM Super Duke 1290 R. That armor could stand to be lower profile

Knowing what I know now, I would not buy them.

Like my Tour gloves, with attitude

I ordered Small, same as my Tour gloves. It took some time, but the Tour's stretched to perfection...most comfortable glove I've ever had, five start. The Sumo's are similarly tight as new, have only had them three days, but I'm concerned that they won't quite stretch as well, as the rubber protection strips will only allow the base and the tip to stretch. Right now, they're good, with the exception of the index and thumb tips tight against the interior seams. If, after a few weeks, that doesn't improve, well, then I should have ordered mediums.
I do love the touch-tips for my iPhone.
