Say hello to Sumo®! Inspired by the needs of supermoto racers who require both extreme flexibility and extreme protection, the Sumo® gloves are ideal for street riding too. In fact, to make it even more useful for everyday riding, we added a new touch screen interface to the finger tips for controlling your iPhone/Android/GPS, etc.

The secret to adding protection without sacrificing our legendary flexibility and comfort is the use of a specialized Thermoplastic Rubber (TPR) material. Its computer optimized, segmented design is transparent to the user yet provides serious impact resistance.

Compared to the standard DeerTours®, the Sumo® has a half-inch longer cuff with a closed-loop design. It also adds impact protection to the knuckles, fingers and wrist bones.

Proudly made in the USA.

    Lee Parks Design Sumo gloves

Posted by C Hancock on 6th Nov 2023

I ordered a pair of these after reading about them on the BMW MOA forums. They run smaller than others so check the size chart and follow that. These are by far the most comfortable gloves I have ever had. The sensativity is incredible and the touch screen finger and thumb put these on another level. A quick change to the maps screen or music on your phonr while riding is super easy, no need to stop and take glove off etc. VERY comfortable!! I wish all of their gloves could have the touch screen tips on them!!!! Please make that available Lee Parks people!!

    Sumo gloves

The gloves are very comfortable and I expect them to get better as they wear in. I experienced no numbness or tingling during my first use, a 200 mile ride. My only complaint is that I had to remove the gloves to use my Garmin GPS or to adjust the volume on my helmet headset controls. Those situations may improve as I get used to the gloves. Overall, I’m very satisfied.

    Sumo Gloves

These gloves are a replacement for my Lee Parks Deer Tours which I have put many miles on. They're just getting a bit stretched out so I decided to get a new pair. I have a 2018 Goldwing which has a large selection of discrete buttons on the handlebars - requiring good dexterity to distinguish them. The Deer Tours were about the 6th or 7th so pairs of gloves I’ve tried, and are the perfect solution to the task.

I recently received a pair of Lee Parks Sumo gloves and have done one ride of bout 50 miles. I picked these as an upgrade to the Deer Tours due to them having the knuckle armor and the finger tip touch screen capability. So far they are fine except for pressure I get due to the armor on my knuckles (particularly on the left hand, middle finger- don’t know why that is). The pressure occur at the metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joint, where the fingers attach to the palm - particularly on the middle finger.

I’m not sure whether to keep them in hopes the armor area stretches or send them back in exchange for new Deer Tours. I can say they (the Deep Tours) are the most comfortable gloves I’ve ever worn.

    Gloves

Using the guide when choosing the glove size worked well as the fit is great. I gave four stars because what I do not care for, in my opinion, is the cuff which is flared a bit much. I find myself fumbling around to get them tucked just right in the jacket sleeve. Again, fit and comfort have been good so far in the 7-8 hours of use. Check with me in a couple months for more details.

Great gloves. Light and comfortable. But i have concerns about the final quality control . I received the gloves with a surface cut on the leather at one of the fingers . I hope it does not affect the functionality.

    SUMO gloves

They are as advertised. The reviews are not lying. They are incredibly comfortable and fit incredibly well. I tried on a lot of gloves. Probably every different style they have at my local Cycle Gear and NOT ONE of them felt like these. Then you have the peace of mind to know that you are truly protected if you go down. I can't say enough. If you need to, soak them in cold water for a while and then put them on and they will form to your hand perfectly. Buy with confidence.

    SUPER comfortable

Posted by Pete on 15th May 2023

Used them for a few hours only so far, but just like the original outseam offerings, these are extremely comfortable. You barely know you have armor which is far different than other 'armored' gloves I've used. The touch screen capable part is the best I've ever used. really impressed!
