Say hello to Sumo®! Inspired by the needs of supermoto racers who require both extreme flexibility and extreme protection, the Sumo® gloves are ideal for street riding too. In fact, to make it even more useful for everyday riding, we added a new touch screen interface to the finger tips for controlling your iPhone/Android/GPS, etc.

The secret to adding protection without sacrificing our legendary flexibility and comfort is the use of a specialized Thermoplastic Rubber (TPR) material. Its computer optimized, segmented design is transparent to the user yet provides serious impact resistance.

Compared to the standard DeerTours®, the Sumo® has a half-inch longer cuff with a closed-loop design. It also adds impact protection to the knuckles, fingers and wrist bones.

Proudly made in the USA.

    Sumo Gloves

Posted by LEE C MARTIN on 24th Mar 2022

Been riding just over a year and knew little about gloves. Purchased several pair, looking for something comfortable for long rides on my Harley. Saw two "You Tubers" wearing the gloves and thought I would give the Sumos a shot. First couple of days they were "OK". After a week, I love 'em. Very comfortable.. Feels like quality. Such a major difference between the Sumos and other gloves (even some that were close in price) Only reason not 5 stars is a slight seam protrusion on the left thumb. Nothing major, but a little unexpected. Highly recommended, buy the gloves! You will be impressed!!

    SUMO

High quality leather that feels great on the hand. The gloves work well with touch screen devices but they do run big so buy accordingly. I'm glad I bought them. -JR

    Need breaking in? Hurting knuckles.

Posted by Philip March on 21st Jan 2022

This is my second pair of Lee Parks gloves. I also have the D3 Moto gloves - which I love. Amazingly comfortable. I wanted to try the Sumo gloves for the extra protection. Only used them for one 3-hour ride so far, but to be honest, my hands were killing me after the first hour. The plastic/rubber on the knuckles were are not as flexible and forgiving as deerskin and the pressure they put on my throttle hand - thumb knuckle in particular caused a lot of discomfort. Too soon to give up on them though. Hopefully, with more use and stretching, they’ll get more comfortable.

    Favorite Gloves

Posted by Norm Kern on 1st Nov 2021

Just bought my second pair. My all-time favorite gloves. Here's why:
    1. Armored fingers and hand back- good protection yet completely flexible.
    2. Lack of bulky seams on palm side where I grip the bars and levers
    3. Durable phone-friendly fingertips that don't require frequent attention to maintain function.
    4. Protective, yet soft and flexible
    5. Unlined and not bulky for great feel & control
    6. Perfect length and diameter of cuffs- fit over cuffs of my Klim Badlands Pro jacket in cold weather, yeteasily tuck inside opened jacket cuffs for airflow in hot weather.
    7. Wrist straps that actually secure the gloves- not little tabs like other brands
    8. Rode with first pair for 4 years/70k+ mi without a single stitching problem.
    9. With heated grips and hand shields can use them year round- freezing to 100+ degrees.

    XS Size For Smaller Hands

Posted by Emilio on 28th Oct 2021

After measuring my hands I was slightly over size XS so I went with it. As a beginner I’d say I’m picky when it comes to gloves(this being my 5th pair). It is especially hard to find gloves for smaller hands as It has to have comfort, fit, tactility, protection, and style. These gloves check all boxes. These gloves fit well… like a glove. But more like a surgical glove that is far more substantial and comfortable. Initially it felt tight but within minutes the tightness reduced and now the gloves feel better every time you put them on. An additional benefit is that these gloves unlike regular leather gloves don’t have that squeaky leather sound; they are whisper quiet.
