Say hello to Sumo®! Inspired by the needs of supermoto racers who require both extreme flexibility and extreme protection, the Sumo® gloves are ideal for street riding too. In fact, to make it even more useful for everyday riding, we added a new touch screen interface to the finger tips for controlling your iPhone/Android/GPS, etc.

The secret to adding protection without sacrificing our legendary flexibility and comfort is the use of a specialized Thermoplastic Rubber (TPR) material. Its computer optimized, segmented design is transparent to the user yet provides serious impact resistance.

Compared to the standard DeerTours®, the Sumo® has a half-inch longer cuff with a closed-loop design. It also adds impact protection to the knuckles, fingers and wrist bones.

Proudly made in the USA.

NOTE: Prior to ordering, click on this Glove Size Chart to print off a sizing chart for your hands. These gloves run bigger than most brands, so don’t be alarmed if you’re either a small or medium in Lee Parks Design gloves.

    Sumo

Posted by Brian Foxe on 6th Jul 2020

This is my second pair of Sumo gloves. The fit is great (use the fitting guide!). Comfort, dexterity, etc. are great. Longevity on my previous pair was no better than other gloves I've had from other well known manufacturers (Dianese, Alpinestars, TourMaster, AGV). I wore holes in the first pad area of both middle fingers, and also in the ring finger of one glove. Also suffered a separation (hole) where the rubber is sewn onto the thumb of one glove, near the web. A possible solution would be to add a second layer on the tips of the 2nd and possibly 3rd fingers, like is on the thumb and index fingers. All care instructions were followed. I've had other gloves that were as comfortable and lasted just as long, that cost half as much. I bought my current pair to give them another go, and hopefully they will last longer.

Maybe the Most Comfortable Glove I've Ever Worn!

Posted by MuChawn Golden on 15th Jun 2020

I was turned on to this brand by Motojitsu (a YouTuber). Needed a tan (almost orange) pair of gloves to wear when riding my cruiser and to match my boots, jacket, and helmet. These gloves feel broken in already and super comfortable. They are definitely worth the price. I would strongly recommend and am thinking about getting a pair of the gauntlet style!

    Great gloves

Posted by Chuck B on 25th May 2020

When I first got these, they rubbed on the backs of a couple fingers and I thought I might need to get a size larger than I did. After a few rides, they don't rub anymore and are really comfortable. These seem to be well made and durable, but thankfully I haven't had to put them to the test. I've ridden in cool to hot weather, and my hands haven't been uncomfortable at any point. I haven't tried them in down right cold yet.

    Sumo short, black

Posted by Zachary Manning on 23rd Apr 2020

I like some others have been watching and seeking guidance from a pretty cool motorcyclist on YouTube by the name of Motojitsu aka Greg. He let us know what gloves he uses and I eventually grabbed the short cuff version because the Gauntlet didn't come in black. He had spoken highly of this glove manufacturer and I trust him. So far first impression is the fit is perfect, seem super high quality nicely made. I feel safe and the best part is for me at least it made releasing my clutch slower a lot easier. Might just be in my head but yeah. I appreciate they were made in the USA and can be shipped quickly. Finding a glove I wanted that was in stock in the right size was almost impossible because I wanted to ride my newly financed r3 like right away. As to the whole smart phone finger thing... It's just kinda niche. In my opinion I'll never have the time or want to whip my phone out on the road even at a stop. I am new though so who knows. I did test it and I can definitely make my phone work with the glove on. It's too hard to get my phone out with the gloves on though as I am wearing pretty tight Klim bike pants and at that point I just take them off. Nice feature but not why I bought them. Good glove and looks great in black!

    Tight fit

Posted by John on 21st Feb 2020

I ordered the Sumo long version in size S and they fit perfectly. I therefore ordered the Sumo short version again in size S and they fit tighter than the long ones. Leather stretches over time and hopefully they will fit better.

Use for street and track. Durable, long-lasting and extremely comfortable. I also have the Sumo R's, which are even better.

    Mostly good

Posted by Den Kaill on 5th Jun 2019

Well made. Comfortable. Fit good, except for the index finger shape of the right glove. It was narrow, causing the tip of the glove finger to extend from my fingertip. The left glove finger had the correct shape however, which allowed my finger to fit nicely.
